Your school board sets local education policy and approves budgets. Most board meetings are open to the public — and most districts hear almost no parent voices on special education funding. That silence is costing your child.
Congress controls IDEA funding. The IDEA Full Funding Act would require the federal government to honor its 40% commitment for the first time since 1975. A phone call from a constituent is one of the most effective tools available to move that.
Knowing your rights doesn't make you adversarial. It makes you accurate. Every goal, every service, every minute of specialized instruction in your child's IEP is a binding legal commitment the district has made.
Enter your address at House.gov to find your Representative and their office phone number. Ask them to co-sponsor the IDEA Full Funding Act.
Look up both of your Senators at Senate.gov. A 90-second phone call carries significantly more weight than any email.
